Silent Choice Help
Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how to diagnose silent choice that is not working. Any fuses to check or relays? The guy before me has cable ties holding them open & when I take them off they go closed & won't open with the switch.

Re: Silent Choice Help
if they are electrically activated, there is ford style heavyduty solenoid that opperates the slaves on the diverters them selves . check for power on the lrge terminal of the solenoid. and track from there.
if they opp. with vacum, there is a pump that applies vac to the small cylynders, that pump is wired direct and has a relay on it.. again check for power, and track from there. excuse my not knowing the correct names of the two, good luck. |

Corsa electric?

Re: Silent Choice Help
I had a similar problem and used ties to keep open since it steered "heavy" and lost 4 mph on a Baja 24 Outlaw. Was a simple fuse in the power line.

Re: Silent Choice Help
Both sides? Possibly a bad connection. Not enough juice to hold them open, but enough to click. Unplug 1 of them and see if the remaining one will work then. Move freely by hand, other than the spring tension?

Re: Silent Choice Help
check for good ground, clean connections, check type of actuator, could be spring return, may need to replace .also pins in diverters themselves sometime corrode a lil and freeze up and makes actuator strugle, or sluggish, then overloads solenoid. check all points.
