Locking Header Bolts...

Just ordered some Breslin Split-lock Stainless header bolts that CMI sells through Trick Marine.
I had a tuff time keeping the standard steel ones from loosining up all the time.
Do they really work well?...at $65 per set of (16) I would hope so.
Is there anything to look out when using them on Aluminum heads?

Thats strange. While I checked them often, my bolts stayed tight all season on my CMI's and AFR heads. I hope they solve your problem.

I have had no problem. I do have to tighten them up after install of new gaskets a couple times. Once they get heat cycled a few times. Not all aluminumm heads have inserts in threaded holes so watch for pulling the threads out on aluminum.

I switched to SS ARP studs instead of bolts and haven't had one come loose in 65+ hrs.

those do work, just dont forget to looesen the set screw when you service the exhaust.

i found that using s.s bolts with the thick posiloc washers and coper reusable gaskets is the way to go. no more blown header gaskets or loose bolts.
