#6 Prop Lock
Does anybody make a prop lock for a #6 drive?

Re: #6 Prop Lock
McGuard makes one for the Blackhawk drive, it has the same size shaft and same threads. I have used it and it works great.

Re: #6 Prop Lock
Do you have any problem with it loosing up. If you look close at the Bravo3 prop lock the base of the nut has a 45deg taper to it. The washer for the prop doesn't match the base of the nut. I am concerned there is not enough contact area between nut and washer.

Re: #6 Prop Lock
The taper is to match the BH props. It can be easily machined off.

Re: #6 Prop Lock
Airpacker,
I thought about that but was concerned that there would not be enough of the threads/nut left. It looks like you would be reducing the area of threads by ~20%. When I discussed this idea with McGuard they didn't thing it was a good idea. Any thoughts on this??? Rick |
Re: #6 Prop Lock
You don't have to machine the entire taper off, just enough to leave a good flat shoulder on the nut. Its self locking so it shouldn't come loose.
