Run motors with-out outdrives on

I pulled my motors this winter and I'm putting them back yesterday and today. My question is can I test run the motors before I put back the outdrives?

Do it all the time. Just pull the hose off the transom assembly (inside) and stick the garden hose in it

Thanks for the answers. I have a flush connection so I'll just hook it up that way.

Now too see if they will run :D
