Merc CDS vs Diacom Marine Software
1 Attachment(s)
Anybody used both and has an opinion as to which is better? I have used Diacom for about fives years now and like it, but it could be improved.
On a related topic, anybody else exporting data from Diacom to Excel for analysis? I have been doing it for a while and think there is some diagnostic value there. Specifically, taking the data and generating graphs that allow you to absorb a great deal more information and help investigate and develop an understanding of the dynamic operation of the marine engine managment system. Re: Merc CDS vs Diacom Marine Software
i know that cds is expensive. but in my opinion it is probably the worst diagnostic system being used today, it is very slow. another problem is the smart coms box is always in the way. and as far as maintenance i feel like i web sync every day. the system just leaves alot to be desired. and mercury/spx is only charging 7000 for the package i have. i do use the computer, but it has diacom loaded on it.

Re: Merc CDS vs Diacom Marine Software
i like my new diacom soft ware however when using it on a Volvo Penta I found that it reads the default setting if a sensor fails, instead of what the sensor is actually doing. This should be the same with any of the mefi 4 systems. But other than that its great. Now if yamaha and bombardier wous come out of the stone ages I would be al set. Ed
