Re: $2600 gimbal job?

I had my gimbal replaced under warranty by mercruiser. I did a little extra searching on OSO because I had heard there was a better way than drilling hole in the sides of the transom assembly and it would make future repairs easier. I got in touch with Ron Bender of J-R Marine and he sent out his kit. The mechanic that performed my repair agreed to do it with this kit . It ended up saving him a boatload of time and it looks great. www.J-Rmarine.com
Here is a picture of the finished product, much better than the Frankenstien plugs!!! |

Re: $2600 gimbal job?
Rolly that links no good. I like the look of the kit though! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those too., looks like a better mouse trap.
You can put your .02 anytime.... as long as you keep it to yourself :D |

Re: $2600 gimbal job?
Just got my boat back, it cost me a grand for bellows, u-joints, shift cable, etc. No gimbal though, and no trim sensor. Sounds high to me.
