Are you trying to figure out which hydraulic line is "up" and which is "down"?

yes, which is up and down on the pump and the rams

Re: anybody have a diagram of drive trim connections for ssm #3s
The lines on the distribution block could have been reversed over the years. So the best way involves trial and error. The pump has a hi and low pressure side, they are not interchangable.
Energize the blue side, this is the trim up, high pressure circuit. hook the high pressure hose up and see if the drive goes up. If not, switch it. Green is the low pressure, down circuit. Gary |

The hi-press or up lines are normally the front lines on the block. If you look in the bilge, most riggers will put one or two wire ties on the up lines where they go throught the transom. If you have to you can trace the lines from the pumps. The hi-press. fittings are marked.

Sorry, I didn't answer both questions. The rear fitting on the ram is the up fitting.

Gald it helped. On old boats, it seems to be a 50:50 chance if they're right.
BTW, if you're hooking up trim tabs, it's the opposite. Blue, high pressure for down. Green, low pressure for up. Gary
