Right Prop for 7.4L?

I was hoping to get some advise on which prop to get for my recently purchased PowerQuest 222 Spectra. The boat weights 3500lbs empty. Has the 7.4 L engine with about 310HP. Currently running a 23P Mirage (not+) It's turning 4800 RPM at 56 MPH on GPS. I calculate about 20% slip with this set up. Seems a little high to me, but maybe not for the regular Mirage. Hole shot is good but has some chine walk in rough water.

I would like to keep decent hole shot but increase top end some by reducing slip and also improve stability. From what I have read on the board it looks like I should go with a 22 or 24P Bravo 1. I would like to go with the 24P as long as RPM and hole shot remain good. So the 60 million $ question is, which one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Right Prop for 7.4L?

My 24' Chaparral Villain III ran 58mph on GPS at ~4,800rpm turning a 21p Mirage. Same boat ran 61mph on GPS with a 23p Ballistic turing ~4,500rpm.

Either your prop is not really a 23p or your drive is not 1.5 to one or you really do have wayyyyy too much slip!

A 24p Bravo 1 will turn 100-200rpm less than a 23p Mirage+.
And will slip less with 4 blades.
I would try a 24p B1 or 23p Rev4.
