Re: can a holley 800 work for me?

it was more the over reving cast internals than the fuel problom. the piston did hit the valve and bent the intake valve. i got the head at the machine shop now get all fixed up. my biggest problom now is there is so much water in my oil lines and cooler i have been hanging them up and letting it drain out but there was alot of water when rod or wrist pin when threw the block.if i get most of the water out can i run the new engine for a little bit then keep changeing the oil to get it the rest of the way out?

Oh god dont. Replace the oil lines and cooler. Its amazing how difficult, no, impossible it is to get all the metal and whatnot out of lines and coolers after a blowup. Its not worth it on a fresh motor.

Save yourself the headache and just get a new oil cooler. I wish I took the advise given on here to do the same thing. Ended up spinning a bearing because of contamination in oil cooler. $350 would of been a small price compared to a $3000 price and not to mention boating down time. How can you put a price on that. Trust me, if you have a broken piston, you have metal.

My idle vaccum is 11-12 hg

I think I was somewhere around 78 primaries and 92 secondaries. I ran a 6.5 pv in the primaries and none in the secondaries.

Not 100% sure on the jet sizes as it was a few years ago and a different boat, but it was somewhere close to that.

ya you guy. where def. right the cooler is junk i got a new one coming today. but i was able to run all my lines threw the parts washer and blew them out. i know theres no metal in them. but the cooler no matter how much i flushed it the compressed air always blew out metel sludge. thanks for helping me realize this :drink:
