Save your money, because drive showers do not work. If you want to keep your drive cool buy a "Cool Swrl" l from Drew Marine. This system incorporates a gerator pump & oil cooler. It adds about 2 qts to the system & circulates the gear oil in out of the top gear. When i would make a high speed run my drive temp would go up to 260 degrees & higher if did not back out of it. How do I know this? Because I installed a drive temp sensor & guage on my drive. I was tired of spending $ 4000 a pop for blowing my imco sc. I am running a 1200 hp blown 540 on a 27' adavantage. the temp would go from 170 degrees to 260 real fast. With the drive cooler I would flip the switch on to the pump & and make my speed run. My drive temp never went over 190 degrees. Drive showers are a total waste.

Damn, hard to debate data like that...
I have full Latham and was about to order the SS Braided hose pick up kit that screws in the top plate.
I have had NO X series drives issues to date...
Maybe I should leave well enough alone.

Thanks for the input, the "Cool Swirl" is very impressive and a great idea for high HP heavy boats. I am running a 383 in a 22 Classic through a new Bravo X I doubt if I make enough ponies to get it to hot. I am pretty sure I can get away with a shower force fed off my sea pump, just need the darn cap.

MOP are you talking about the new XR style finned top cap? If so, you can space a cover like Imco's to clear the fins, but make sure you have water running down the sides.. I had a fitting pointing at the fins and it didnt work very well. I am now running a Simrek shower and it works much better.. Also working on an external pump similar to Drew's setup, but my supply and return points are in different locations and I am adding a filter to the system as well as the cooling.. Very neat idea drew came up with for sure!!
