George Linder may have a source for having your canopies refurbished. The process involves removing inside/outside surface coating.New coating is applied and then polished. They will look new and may be tougher-better than original.Cost will be approximately $2,500.I may have a source, would have to check.

I spoke to a guy that has a airplane in our office. He suggested using Rolite. They apparently have a 3 step product that he said works pretty good. I didn't find a mfr. website, but this one has the product. Scroll around 3/4 the way down.

Re: help polishing f16 canopy.

Reportedly, there are two or more vendors that supply windows to the military. The earlier windshields were coated with different material than today. It is my understanding, the gold tint was created with microns of pure gold dust. The purpose was to cause improved pilot vision in various conditions. However,as ultra violet rays attack the millimeter(s)thick inside/outside coating, hazy gold color remains. As a high time pilot myself;as we had to deal with the same problem, the first stop was at the aircraft parts house. With their latest and greatest, off we went---wrong!The coatings have since been stripped and re-coated,without gold dust, but to current mil spec.In fact, the coating is approximately twice as thick as current or previous mil spec. The extra material was added so one can sand and polish, in the event of scratches. The canopies are clear and look new.....John,Thanks for the invite! However, your past generosity is above, beyond and very much appreciated,conclusively......PM or call and we'll work on getting your canopies done.
