What is the preferred RPM for Power vs. Reliability?
I am running 2 502's. The cam and intake are matched for peak power at around 6k to 6500. Is this a good place to run the motors for reliability as well as power? Or would running them at a lower RPM say 5400 help them to last longer. 6k just seems like they are screaming back there.
I guess I'm looking for the sweet spot RPM vs. Power vs. Longevity. My motors are 502's 9.5 : 1, Air gap intakes, Thunderbolt ignition with MSD Coils, Holley 850's, Gil manifolds, Gm Rec Heads, pocket ported and gasket matched. Thanks Rob |

The 5400 would be my recommendation, you can always prop for 5800 just in case you feel the need!!
