What is in there (OMC 235 Charging System)
Need some help... I have a pair of Evinrude 235's (79-85) that I am 98% sure are wired up incorrectly. Right now both motors are connected to the common on a three way switch that is connected to two batteries. I know I need to get the two charging systems separated and I know how to wire that. My question is what charging system and size is in these motors? I have been through the Seloc manual – no help. I also am thinking about a third house battery and doing some load calcs for the stereo, etc. But I figure I should start with the charging source. Any possible, leads, or ideas?

Mine had 30 amp charge coils, I think that is pretty standard on those engines.

Re: What is in there (OMC 235 Charging System)
I do not know if the internals match the model numbers as one powerhead was replaced/rebuilt in '01 and the other in '05. But the model is 235TXL79A.
