Having a bronze pilot bushing made, Inside diameter of the Bryant crank is 1.845" what size should the OD of the bushing be to keep her in place?

2112,
If you dont get an answer, call me on Tuesday. I have a stock bronze pilot bushing at the shop and can measure it for you. I think they are a couple of thousanths interference fit.

What size id do you need ? Is there not a bushing available ?

Re: Friction fit question?

Bill,

It is for a mercury input shaft mating up to a BB Ford. Therfore, custom fabbed.

Just need the dimension to get the proper interference. Thanks

Re: Friction fit question?

2112,
I measured a couple of Big Block cranks I have at the shop and they average pretty close to 1.090" where the pilot bushing goes. The stock bushing measures 1.094" so it looks like they are giving it about .004" interference fit.

Hope that helps,

Bill
