New Number for merc oil filter?

Hello,

The oil filter my dealer gave me for the 496ho is 35-866340q02. It is a smaller filter then the original 35-802885q. Does anyone know if this is correct?

yes it is, I had to do a double take and call merc the first time I received a box of them

they are shorter but merc says that the specs are still the same, It is better for limited space applications

I install the new number on my Ho ......after 5 to 6 hrs .....the fitting just under the filter begin to leak :( ....... i change it for a pf-25 Ac/Delco .....no problem at all... no merc again .... :D :D
