Clear coat new Barry Grant Demon carb?

Hey guys, just got my new Barry Grant Demon carb the other day from Gellner. Haven't installed it yet only because I'm worried the polish surface will one day turn to crap. Should I clear coat it before hand? If so, what product is good to use?

Clear paint will turn yellow over time in the engine compartment. Clear powder coating is good, but I'm not sure about doing a carb.
