It didn't fall apart sitting on the trailer it had the sound of death the last time it was run all you can do is fix it and roll on.

I built a 340 Dodge engine for a friend. He insisted I reuse the rod bolts. This engine was used for three seasons of drag racing in a '71 Dodge Dart in the NED1 SS/IA class. The bottom end was torqued properly and buttoned up. We put the engine back in the car and fired it up. While running at 2000 RPM to break in a new cam it tossed two rods. :mad: :mad:
After I chewed my "friend" out and a major argument we were no longer friends.

allah makes the rod bolts of infidels loosen and fail, convert to islam and your troubles are over!
i wont assm and engine with out using a rod bolt stretch gauge, you can buy one for 69.00, then there is no doubt that they are right.

iggy, you need to get new smarter friends that will cough up a few bucks for arp rod bolts, its his loss you were helping mr ungrateful

I totally agree.
This happend back in the mid 70's. We were friends for a long time prior to this.
