1996 540 Bulldog timing question.
Stock 540 bulldog running at 4000ft elv.
The timing tab has no number markings, only a single white mark that is located two peaks in from the right side edge >>>>>x>>. Is that 0, 8 or 12 degrees? After reading the forms the popular total advance is 33 to 34 degrees, sounds good? Thanks for any help. Bryan |

zero or tdc is always the biggest longest hash mark on every big and sbc ive ever set the timing on. you will need a timing light with adjustable advance

Re: 1996 540 Bulldog timing question.
All the hash marks on the timing plate are all the exact same size. I do have an adjustable timing light.
I’ll go stand on my head tonight and see if I can see any other imprinted marks besides the white dot, hope to see something. Anybody else have any info would be great. |

The deepest indention is 0*. Each peak/point thereafter is an aditional 4*.
