97 502/415 Gaskets
I have a blown head gasket so I am taking my 97 502/415 MPI down to the block. I decided to replace the exhaust manifolds also while at it. 2 things to work out now that it is apart. It only has 160 hrs on it. so I guess I should leave the stock cam and timing chain alone... Or should I ?? Other question, does anyone have Felpro gasket numbers for the merc 27-811546 head gasket and 27-805403 intake gasket ?
Thanks |
Re: 97 502/415 Gaskets
The Fel-Pro marine gasket number for a 502 gen. 5,6 is #17049. Summiit or Jegs sell's it for about $53 each.

Re: 97 502/415 Gaskets
If you're going to go with FelPro you ought to be looking at the head set (17207). It has 2 of the 17048 head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets and valve stem seals. Summit has it (FPP-17207) for $141.69
