Diamond Plate thickness???

Anyone know how thick a piece of diamond plate alum is needed in order to support 2 batteries and me standing on it in the engine compartment spanning 2 stringers 24" apart?

Will 1/8" do? Or will I need 1/4"?

Thanks in advance.

Resin coat a piece of plywood first, and attach the diamond plate to the plywood. Paint the edges white and you'll never even notice it there.

3/16" should work fine. If not go with the 1/4". Or use the 1/8" and weld or bolt some 1x1 angle for support.
