Re: Pyrometers

They are used to monitor exhaust temps so you know if you are runniing the motor lean before you have a melt down $$$$$$$.

Re: Pyrometers

actually i have a BAD GIRL that subscribed to oso and I have to use the alias! It was more difficult when I was talking about my crank in another forum!
I understand pyrometers, I was looking for anyone who may have found out by using them that they found a problem, cured it and what the results were. I am considering them but need to be convinced by others they were usefull. anyone who has not had thier engine on a dyno after making top end changes, timing, ecu changes, new carb etc. may have a use for checking thier exhaust.
I was also looking into a portable tuning kit that may already exist. I want to make some changes and want to establish a baseline and so on.

Re: Pyrometers

I have them, and they work but they are limited in my option... If you really want something you can trust get knock meters and forget the pyros...
