Outdrive ID Help
2 Attachment(s)
I am unable to find this drive anywhere. I can not find any numbers on the drive and the prop nut is about 2". It came off an 88 IMP used on the great lakes. They scrapped the boat and said it was a TRS when I purchased it. The gimbal is a speedmaster. Any ideas?

Re: Outdrive ID Help
I think I may have found it, a Speedmaster III Clubfoot. Is this right?

Re: Outdrive ID Help
Yes I think you are right. I am pretty sure it`s a Speedmaster III clubfoot.
Found this if it helps: http://www.mercstuff.com/drive_idspeedmaster.htm |
Re: Outdrive ID Help
I dont think its a speedmaster, its a plain 3. I had a few of those, same upper as a speedmaster 3 but the lower is different as you can see. Uses the same gimble, and trans as the speedmaster. These came with big and small block power in front of them, come to think of it the small blocks used the 71 trans and the big block used the 72. Back in the 1980s I had a pair stolen from me....

Re: Outdrive ID Help
Looks like a TR drive with a broken skeg to me. What size is the boat. They usually put them on big boats without big power. Same upper as a TRS but bigger lower. Prop nut is 1-7/16. Spins a 20" diameter prop.

Bowtie, its not a TR but the skeg is broken.
