Loto mechanic

Anyone know of a RELIABLE mechanic near the 20mm at LOTO. Need drive repaired, won't go in forward.

Try Gene at Lightning Performance (573)374-7974. He is very good.

I also recommend Gene. He has done all of the work on my boat for the last 3 years. By land he is just north of Laurie on Hwy 5.

Re: Loto mechanic

Thanks for the info about Lightning. My only problem is that I would have to take the boat somewhere by water, I have no trailer and it is a 43 Scarab with one drive not working.

Re: Loto mechanic

He'll come to your dock to diagnose as well. Not sure what would happen if the drive had to come off. Pretty sure no one wants to see it slip into the murky depths of LOTO water. I don't know if he has a trailer big enough for that big / heavy of a boat. I know he just did some work on a 42 Cig Tiger at the shop. I leave my trailer with him and let him use it if needed, but mine is only a 33'.

Good luck,
Doug

Cautionary tale about some Ozark marinas..
A friend blew the tower on a bravo. I know, what a surprise.
Took it to a marina, they took it apart to diagnose.
They were going to repair the bravo at about 2X the cost of buying one through the discout places in the back of powerboat.
Now the boat is on the marinas trailer, cant be put in the water without a drive. And the marina wouldn't let the owner buy a bravo and install it.
You get the picture.

Re: Loto mechanic

I know there are alot of horror stories about mechanics so I want to get one I can trust that is close to my dock at the Ledges. I have used Lake Shore in the past and I felt they did a good job with reasonable rates but I know they are too busy right now and too far down the lake.
