KPM Pump question...

I just installed my KPM replacement housing.. 2112 and I cant figure out which is the input to the pump.

If you look at the back of the pump it looks like a V with the impeller at the notch of the V. Would the input be the port on the right side?? Without taking the pump apart, I just cant tell..

Any help is appreciated..

Re: KPM Pump question...

The input is on the starboard side or you can use the one that is plugged on the bottom of the housing. I just installed a KPM pump and sea strainer on my boat and I am very pleased with both of them. I had to use the input on the bottom because my sea strainer is mounted on the port side stringer and I just worked better that way.

Re: KPM Pump question...

Orion,
I think my replacement pump is a bit different. The housing only has ports on the back side of it. I rotated the housing to fit my sitution and the impeller is next to the pan and the ports are top and bottom. I will go to work and attemp to post a pic...

Thanks

Dan told me the bottom port is the inlet...I installed two kits...make sure you use lots of pipe dope on the hose connector fittings to the pump...
