I just had the same problem with my 350 mag. I had 2 plug wires reversed. I was positive I had it right, untill I spent a couple hundred on parts I didn't need and did some checking.

The next bad coil I find will be the first bad coil I've found, even though many times I convince myself it HAD to be a bad coil. I have several extra coils laying around to prove it. Usually when someone tells me they fixed their problem by changing a coil, it's because they most likely fixed the bad connection to the coil. There's not a whole lot that can go wrong inside a coil. It's just a big winding of wire. Anything bad on a coil you most likely will be able to see from the outside, like a crack.

OK my friends refer to me as Ricky the re re. for a whole year I thought it was more serious. its official The #5 and #7 wires were swapped. went out yesterday now without the new stuff I bought and can tell I am not getting full throttle only reved to 4000 rpm but felt like it had more. 54 on gps with 19inch mirage plus.
