Home made low water pickup muffs
2 Attachment(s)
Ok, to some of the old school members this will be a repost, but there are enough new members to warrant the effort. As some may now, the options for "muffs" (running the engine on a hose) with a low water pickup are limited. Originally this muff was designed for the Imco nose cone, but it proably could be adapted to the merc low water pickup. It won't work for the merc low and mid pickup unless you somehow block off the mid pickup. The design credit goes to 29scarb. Years ago he asked me not to replicate his design as he was hoping to take the idea to production. Well he's dropped off the page and I've never heard of the idea moving forward so hopefully I'm not violating any promises. Please take a look at the two sketches and post your questions.

Worked like a charm.... I think I may have 10 bucks in this, including the bungee cord that came in a pack of 4 :)
