496HO Squeal

I have a 2005 496HO with typical Bravo X drive. After just a few seconds of running a loud squeal came from the engine compartment which still had the engine hatch up. I turned the engine off. I started the engine again a couple of times and the identical same occurrence. The engine would run a few seconds like normal and then the loud squeal.

The squeal sounds like a slipping fan belt only a lot louder.
Has anyone ever had this happen with a 496HO (2005)? Any idea what might be forcing the belt to slip or other possible source of this kind of noise scenario? The motor has set for two weeks since it was last run.

This has never occurred before and engine has a little over 100 hours. I will start looking for the cause tomorrow but any insight is appreciated.

Had the same problem replaced belt and noise went away might want to check the tensioner as well

How many hours on the motor/belt when it happened to you?

Did the belt get contaminated with anything that you know of?

Mine squealed when the water pump impeller gave it up.
