Aftermarket efi for my motor

Hello

Does anyone know if their is an aftermarket efi system that plugs directly into my existing wiring loom by simply removing the Mercruiser standard ecu?

I currently have a 1999 Mercruiser 7.4 MPI 310hp and wanting to run something like Motec/Autronic or Haltech without all the re-wiring hassles.

regards,

Richard

i researched this and found nothing... there are efi sytems that are stand alone engine management systems but they are primarilly for racing and are completely user configureable... not plug and play by any means at all...

i didn't find any retrofit marine stuff that i liked the look of at all...

not saying it doesn't exist... but i never found it.

Do a serch on Precision Marine. They are in Louisianna, and can possibly help you out. Jeff

I have Cutler/Holley on one boat and Haltech on one of the others. Tom Earhart helped with both installations, he would probably know. I don't know if either would be a plug and play. The Holley system is self learning and the Haltech system has to be programmed with a laptop. Both work well so far. Haltech's are more variable in case you make major engine mods.

For that engine the stock computer is the best. If you were 600+ HP then it would be different.

I have the Holley 950 MPI unit. I have been using it for about 4 years. It is very flexible, completely programable but very time consuming. The good thing is if you make engine mods you can reprogram with a laptop. The fuel map is completely adjustable with the O2 sensor so be sure you get bigger fuel injectors than actually needed.
