Seawater routing?

I have two oversized heat exhangers. One for Oil (3"x18") and one for coolant (5"x24"). Using 1 1/4" hose through a Eickart sea pump pulling though a bravo XR should I be running through the coolant exhanger first (temp @ 170) before going through the Oil exchanger which is thermostatically set to open at 212 degrees? Or is the flow enough that it doesn't matter which one comes first?

My thinking is incrementally step up in temps or the Oil temp will overheat the coolant when it opens up.

typically thru oil cooler first, then heat exchanger.

That is how I had it first, then started thinking that when the oil thermostat opens up it will reduce the cooling capacity of the "radiator".

Can you elaborate?
