Drive Trim Help??
The drive trim on my '93 Powerquest w/ Bravo One doesn't stay trimmed up. At speed, every five minutes or so, you have to trim up the drive as it will have droped. It doesn't drop sitting at the dock, and I can't detect any hydraulic fluid leaks. A couple of questions:
1. I'm very mechanical, but am new to boats. Is this something I should attempt to fix myself, or is it going to be such a pain that I'm better off paying someone to fix it? 2. If I were to look into it myself, where should I start? The drive was rebuilt last year, but I'm guessing they didn't do anything with the drive trim cylinders. Is the problem more likely in the cylinders or in the pump? I'm not getting any fluid leakage that I can tell. 3. Is there a static way to test the system? thanks |

merc has a special gauge manifold that is used for checking the pressure system in the pump it self, the work done on the drive would have nothing to do woth th problem you are having
