1075 Merc----What Cam?

Curious as to what cam is in the new 850SCI and 1075SCI engines? Hydraulic Roller, Solid Roller? I have searched the merc site and Google and have found nothing on them.

A secret race cam designed by merc especially for their motors. It is rumored they are made entirely of carbon fibre  :evilb:

Steet,
The 1075 SCI cam:
Solid Roller
The lift values are
.395" lobe
.672" valve gross
.642" valve net after lash

The 850 SCI is significantly easier
Bob

Because when bob's not busy driving and working on this :evilb: boat he's like a mad scientist researching, designing, eating, breathing camshafts. I can even picture him scaling the walls at mercs secret lair in a black ninja outfit,I'm sure he even has dreams about cams :D :D ,Smitty

Smitty said it best. That's why they refer to Bob as "The Cam God"!

HP850.............236*/246*@.050 -.539/.559 lobe
HP1075/1200...252*/257*@.050 -.671/.671 lobe

You would think once you got to a certain amount of lift there would be diminishing returns. Thoughts?

the cam works great i run them in my 540s for three years now!

L.T. which of the 2 in post#13 ?

smiklos@sunprint 03-27-2009 07:37 AM

Cam 1075

I also have that in cam in my N/A 540. I did not pick it and was reluctant to use it. The setup has Crower lifters and Jessel shaft rockers. It has been great so far idles pretty nice also. Engine is 9.5 CR fresh water cooled AFR heads.
