I wondr how much power the extra cubes would yeild at about 7psi. 40hp 60 hp Or what? greg

Build your's to a 540 and 8.5:1 CR and your heads. You wil be very happy.

lower cubes you'll proabably make more HP, higher cubes you'll probably make more TQ. That's my opinion... :rolleyes:

Normally you would expect about 15% more power from the 15% more cubic inches but you are probably giving up that much going from 9-1 to 7-1. Like I said earlier though,it should take 2 degrees more timing and 2-4 psi more boost on same octane so you will make up the power lost from compression drop and boost will come in earlier in the midrange because of smaller pulley turning blower faster. Keep in mind too a 572 is going to be a tall deck compared to your shortdeck 502 so be ready to modify or buy new tailpipes or modify holes on transom,Smitty
