1989 Baja 240 runs hot at high RPM's - help diagnos
7.4L
230 ~ hours. 160 thermostat. Temp stays 160 until past around 3,200 then get's progressively hotter as RPM's climb. At WOT i wasn't paying attention and caught the temp at 210. As RPM's decrease, the temp goes down accoringly. I'm told there's a water pump kit consisting of an intake and circulation pump blades that would solve the problem? I know cars, not much about boats. Thanks, M |

Sea Water Pump. I change mine at the start of each year, instead of getting interupted in the middle of boating season.
Simple change (after you do it once). Do a search, you will find several hits in the past month. |

Change The Impeller And Check All Lines For Debris That Could Restrict Flow.

You're right. I thought i could make it through the summer - but it broke down completly the other day and had to get towed. New sea water kit put in, runs perfect so far so good. |
