Vinyl Graphics
Just finished reading the new issue of Powerboat Mag. There is an article about vinyl graphics on boats. Has anyone used them? I know that some boat builders use stickers as accent type graphic but I was thinking about covering the entire side of my boat. Any thoughts?
Thanks Lt. |
Re: Vinyl Graphics
Go and visit our web site www.boatwrapzs.com we use a different product and process so one piece of vinyl covers the entire side.We have had the product in test for over 3 years and it still looks like the day we put in on.There is a quote request button on the web site fill it out and send it back. Re: Vinyl Graphics
Having problems with your link for quotes. Is this a self applied wrap or do I need to bring the boat to you? I have a 1999 272 Baja Islander that I would like to cover both sides of the hull with custom graphics.
Thanks Lt. |
Re: Vinyl Graphics
Yes you have to bring it to our shop...the best way to have it done.Mr Vinyl

I have only had my boat for 6weeks now and seen 2 others just like it  (But What You Going To Do...)
But seeing as the interior is almost all white with a little teal & purple I was thinking about a wrap.. How would this look? - The colors match Everything How Much would something like this cost? http://i2.tinypic.com/1zvva6q.jpg |

These two boats are done in vinyl. These are solid colors designed by Ryan Beckley www.kineticanimation.com.
These both were done using solid colors but Ryan also has the ability to print onto the vinyl for something with more detail. Give Ryan a call and check out his website. |

Re: Vinyl Graphics
These guys have some nice stuff. I don't think they do complete wraps but you might find something you like to cover or accent what you already have.

Re: Vinyl Graphics
A complete wrap is meant to compete with high end graphics,we due the design, install and spay the vinyl with a special coating to give it the look of a high end paint job. These are not stickers this is a 4-6 color process printed on a special vinyl. Mr Vinyl

Re: Vinyl Graphics
The only way to go is to use Controltac...but water will get under the product and it will peel off no mater what you do.We know how to stop that which took us 3 years to figure out.As we stated earlier we are a replacement product for high end graphics.Good luck on what ever process you decide to use.Bud from Mr Vinyl

Re: Vinyl Graphics
3 Years Ago I Purchased 3 Sets Of Vinyl Tribal Graphics That Are For Cars From A Vinyl Company On E-bay,to Put On My Boat And They Have Been There Ever Since No Peeling Or Lifting. Its Probally Not The 100% Perfect Solution But It Also Didn't Cost Me 8000.00. It Cost Me About 300.00 To Do A 42' Boat. I"m Not Saying Its As Beautiful As Some Of Those Designs But If You Want To Add Some Color And Design Its The Way To Go.

Re: Vinyl Graphics
Mr vinyl, nice work! I love the look of the Magnum.
I've had pretty simple vinyl flames on my Super Hawaii for 4 years now. I have been thinking of upgrading . I'll give you a call this fall. How is your product for scratch repairs? Guys I think you have to compare that $8000 estamate to a $15,000 paint job. |

Payton thanks for your encouraging words, very hard for boaters who have not seen the finished product to visualize and understand that you can have a $50,000 paint job for $25,000 or what ever level you are at.These are not stickers and once they understand they can get a very high end paint job with vinyl and can update their boat ever few years and due it for 50-70% less than paint this will become commonplace.Don't get me wrong there are a lot of great painters out there but most of them our out of our reach financially and your boat will be tied up for weeks .Our process can be done in a week so doing it in season not a problem. We just took some additional pictures and will try to get them posted next week.
On your question of scratching, it is no different than paint however we spray a special 3-4 mil coating on after the vinyl has been applied, which protects and provides a gloss finish only found on high end paint jobs.Bud from Mr Vinyl |
