Beede Marine Gauges
 

I'm looking to update my gauges and have been shopping around for a few weeks. I'm leaning towards Autometer however I just ran across a brand I've never heard of before "Beede". They look fairly nice. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them good or bad.

Not sure about Beede gauges but I just installed all new carbon fiber Aoutometer in mine and they work and look perfect. Cant go wrong with Autometer. If you have to ask about Beede, probably not worth the time.

They are a pretty good lower end gauge. We sell a lot of them with almost no comebacks. True a lot of the west coast (and elsewhere) builders use them with private label OE dials. Faria build a lot of private label OE gauges too.

Fast, I have Beede gauges in my 2005 Laveycraft cat. They use them as a base gauge. They seem to work well, however, I occasionally get fogging in on one of the small gauges. I recently installed a 565 Whipple Crockett engine and went to Livorsi tach and gps speedo.

In retrospect, I would stay with Livorsi or Autometer. Good luck.

My Powerquest currently has Faria gauges and they have served the boat well since they were installed new 9 years ago. They all work, I'm just starting to see the faces turn a little yellow as well as a couple I just noted were a little cloudy (you don't notice othet than at night). I don't own a $250,000 plus boat and she's not real fast at 60mph. However it works well with the family. I gor prices on the Autometers and looks like about $450 for what I need. The livorsi gauges are a bit more at about $500. I figure I'll have this boat another 2-3 years and than move up again. The beede gauges look pretty nice and the price looks great at just over $200.
Can I expect about the same life span from these as the Faria's?? As long as they work, as well as dress up the dash a bit. If I have to spend the extras I would as I've done it in the past.

Thanks Quent. By the way do your new gauges do any more the old ones?
I have a handheld GPS to verify speed, however my Faria is only 3mph off on top end.

I know this is an old thread, but I found this via a Google search because I am also looking at these gauges. They're primarily an OEM, so they make gauges for other companies. A lot of the gauges we have in our boats, were made by Beede and resold under another lable. They don't appear to sell under their own name much.

they look good. I know a alot of guys on here feel as if they dont cost a lot of money they arent any good. But you always get what you pay for too.

I just bought a bunch of VDO gauges, which were in my Scarab originally. They're back with a full line of marine gauges, and they're priced right.
