bravo 1 slipping while planning off
 

I have a Bravo one that is all original with 610hours. I have never had a problem with the drive until today. The boat runs up until around 2200rpms where is when it will sound like the outdrive is spinning. If you try to go half throttle you'll see the RPMS jump and the boat not moving at all. Its almost like a tranny in a car when its trying to downshift but can't. Any Ideas? I have inspected both exterior views of the outdrive itself and the prop, prop turns freely and outdrive looks god. Is the drive blown?

Sounds like a prop hub slipping.
Is it a rubber hub prop?

Its a Hdyromotive, I was under the impression those stainless ones are 1 part without hubs I was told. If its an engine coupler, Does the motor have to be pulled?

hydromotive is a solid hub, yes if coupler mtr will need to come out, look behind mtr some times you can see rubber dust all over the place, its also possible its in the drive but check for coupler first....if you dont see the rubber dust take boat out and open hatch while tring to get on plane and see if they smell "rubber burning"

to change the coupling you have to pull the motor i changed mine i moved the back seat forward removed sundeck and pulled the motor high enough and turned her around to get to the coupling and changed it also it is easier to do with the drive off

Not only easier to change with the drive off, but 100% necessary.

You need to at least lift the engine to change a coupler. It is bolted to the flywheel and you need to remove the engine bellhousing.

You must have the drive completely off, because will need to realign the engine with an alignment tool.

I had a similar experience.. turns out the local prop shop trashed my prop, Looked OK to me (newbie) turns out they ground too much off. Mine would spin out and the engine would rev. I could slowly feather it to get on plane. New prop and I was back in business.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of a coupler "kind of still work". I doubt your boat would even move if it was the coupler, much less hang on until 2200 rpm. I've had two of them go bad and there is no doubt what happened. There was a burning rubber smell and small and large chunks of rubber all over the place. I would try another prop if you have access to one.
