Kendall Oil in Merc 525

Anyone using Kendall oil in their Merc motors? It was recomended to me and I am looking for opinions.
It would be the Kendall HD 40 wt oil.

I bought the boat and they were using Royal Purple Synthetic 15 w 40. This seems to burn some oil which I understand is common to synthetic oils.

Either is a good choice. Synthetics have tougher and purer base stocks which means increased film strength and more protection.
