Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Hi
I would like to know the answer to the question as well. Wouldn't it slightly disturb the reading that the fuel pressure regulator gets? regards, Richard |
Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
That is a good location. With that location you will be able to verify that the regulator is seeing when the motor goes in boost. If your gauge is not showing any boost then you know you fuel regulator is not seeing it. If regulator does not see boost it does not increase fuel pressure thus leaning out the motor.
Remember to do a spark plug check after the first short burst to verify the engine is getting enough fuel. If you lean it out you will be rebuilding the motor. |
Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Any vac line or port will work. I agree with Turbojack, that would give you a direct reading on your regulator.
Make sure you check the plugs after a hard run and then turn the key off while still underway. If you bring it down to idle and then shut it down, you'll be reading your idle mixture on the plugs. |
Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
sounds like a plan then i will try it and see what happens

Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Shouldn't the regulator be fed from vacum off the Carb box and the boost guage come from the Intake manifold. They will read differently.

Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Personally, I think you install the boost pressure guage in the dash :evilb: :evilb:

Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
So you install it in the dash and its sends signals to the intake like magic huh LOL

Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Install the gauge in the dash. The line that goes to it gets installed in a vacuum port in the intake.

Re: where to install a boost preasure gauge
Guage in trhe dash - we all agree. Vacuum to the intake. Now where does the fuel pressure regulator line come from?
