Moters?? 502 454 500??

I am thinking about buying a 1999-2001 step hull PQ 38 avenger and need to know what is the best motor, I would like to go a least 70 gps ?

The 502 mpi, 500 hp, 500 efi 454SC

Can someone explain the difference and hp from these engines.

502 MPI = 415 hp
500hp is a beefed up 502 carburated
500efi is a beefed up 502 MPI
454sc is actually called a 525 SC = 454 hand built with a 177 blower

and i would have to think for 70 mph on that boat ( guessing of course) a total of about 1000 to 1100 hp is going to be necessary at a min...
