Leaky Trim Pumps

I have an issue with my trim pumps having a small amount of fluid on the top of them when ever I go out an run in the rough. I've got the leakproof caps and I cannot figure out if they are not working or if my leak is were the plastic resevoir is attached to the pump itself. Anybody have a similar issue and how do you deal with it?

Thanks

1 of mine leak a bit. Its more of an annoyance than anything else. Teague makes billet reservoirs that is supposed to fix this problem.

Check out the Get Real Performance trim pump tanks. They are work great and really clean up the bilge by moving the wiring to the back of the SS mounting plate. I really like my billet and acrylic combination.

My leak proof caps all leaked too at 1st. Very discouraged. I then tightened the bajesus out of them. No more leakes. They have to be on real tight in order to seal the o-ring in the cap. Just hand tighten doesn't seem enough.

Check to see if if there is ar ed cap under the main cap. If there is, take it out. The guy I bought my last Donzi from had the trim pump relplaced shortly before he sold it to me and it never got removed. It took me a while to figure it out but that cap was not allowing it to vent which caused it to leak around the seal. I think that cap comes in the pump when they are new out of the box.

Thanks guys. I thought I had them pretty dang tight but I'll give them another crank. Mine had the red plugs under the original yellow caps, I was told they were supposed to help with leaking with the original caps. I took them out when I put the leak proof caps on. The weeping is more of a nuisance than anything, just pisses me off when you spend so much time cleaning the bilge and these POS pumps leak.
