This is the boat and those are the flow numbers for the heads. Dyno the motors and they made about 680HP at 5400RPM. The motors have about 80 hours on them now. Been running great.

With Del West inconel exhaust valves, the flow numbers were:
LIFT.....CFM @ 28"
.200.....147.46
.300.....187.68
.400.....245.14
.500.....281.84
.600.....304.88
.700.....316.20

The main reason the Del West over Ferrea or Manley was that the owner had a friend that worked at CV Products, a big supplier to NASCAR down in North Carolina, and he hooked him up with them for the same price as the Manley's.

A 540cid engine and heads with 345cc intake runners....some guys would say "yes" they're too big and some would say "no".

I'll just say this....I have some AFR 315cc CNC ported heads on my naturally aspirated 565cid engines in my 32' Active Thunder and I can stay right with my friend's 32' Active Thunder with his freshly rebuilt 556cid, Dart Pro-1's, rebuilt 8-71 Supercharges....his engines dyno'd @815hp with dry exhaust and he cannot pull away from me at WOT or at 3500rpm on the way up the RPM range he cannot pull away from me---I am right there! We tried it a few times this past summer.

I thought for sure he would blow me away...and he even has larger cams than I do.

It should say something about large cams and large heads. I have smaller heads and cams than what most guys would run....and my engines run up to 5500-5600rpm.

Bob Madara engineered my head/cam combination and Dave Wesseldyk assembled the engines.....still running strong after 3-4 seasons now (roughly 180-200hours).
