Water in motor
 
Hi is there any way to clean the rust from inside the motor.I just got the boat with water in the motor look like a long time there a lot of rust.I got the heads off rust on cyl walls and head even on the cam.there was a little water standing in the cyl's I dont have the motor out so I cant look at the crank.will a hot tank do It ?It was just rebuild last year.I used some wd40 and 1 of those green srubes it work a little but i dont srub that long .Or do I have to get a new motor
it's a 4.3L GM 262 V-6

Dont waste your time. Get a new or remanufactured engine.

Saw the pictures on your other thread. Unless you are a good shadetree mechanic, and can do a complete rebuild yourself, get a remanufactured marine motor. You'll also need new exhuast - plus some other small but expensive parts (hey - it's a boat). Rough guess - around $3K to get it back on the water. Welcome to the world of boating where having fun takes a free flowing wallet. :D
