whats the best compression for a 540 eagle h beam rods and crank jesel valve train inconnel valves j e pistons, thinking 671 blower need advice ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

671 is way too small for a 540, 1071 to 1471 will work for you and 9 to one is the max static compression. give dean gellner or jc a call they will point you in the right direction

depending on the boost level you would like to run and octane of fuel, I would like to see 8.5:1 if you 9.0:1 you can still be safe just keep the boost down 5 PSI or less. At 8.5:1 compression I have run 7-9 PSI of boost with iron heads and have no problems. 30 degrees to 32 on timing. 92 octane with intercoolers.
