Can you tell the difference between the two Headers??

Uh.....................................Yah!

Is it from from the header being off ( another CMI Drama unfolds ) or were the holes drilled wrong originally. Should not hurt anything other than your pride when people say geez that thing is out of whack.

Thanks (Another CMI Drama Unfolds) I called CMI and e-mail them this picture so they could send me another header to replace this one. I was told I have to send it back first. Like you can't see the difference in the header... Factory Bravo transom holes from Baja measured and in spec...

Sure it is the header? Maybe your engine alignment is off just a touch!

Re: Can You See The Difference?

Engine is good Header is off. Picture is of same engine. The header is angled towards the engine.

Just curios, have you measured the hole location or are you assuming they are correct? Might not hurt to put some masking tape on the back of the boat and lay out a center-line, take some measurements. I'm just trying to think what you can use for an accurate c/l reference.

Everything is to spec for standard bravo. If you look at the first pic you can see the weld on the collector is angled towards the engine and the other is straight accross.

Re: Can You See The Difference?

302, I was kidding on the engine thing. I know of a dealer in this area that had to send a certain brand of headers back three times before they would fit correctly. Good luck with this one.

Re: Can You See The Difference?

It's tough to tell from the photo if the problem is the header or the hole location..

If you click on the below link and provide the measurements on the first page it would be a good start towards figuring this out.

Thanks,

Re: Can You See The Difference?

I got good results...I can feel the difference in midrange torque and the coming out of the hole. I have the 496 mags not HO's. I was running 26 bravo 1 now running 28 standard bravo 1. turning 4600 RPM at 73 MPH GPS...Full tank of gas with 4 people. still need to get them labbed and go from there.

Re: Can You See The Difference?

Was running a solid 70 with the 26's. but hitting the rev-limiter now so I had to switch to the 28. still dialing it in but looks like 3-4 with no other modifications but the headers. Still need to try a set of labbed 28's
