boat manufactures
I know there is alot of work into putting together a 100mph+ masterpeice with all the bells and whistles, cstum graffix, gaugesand bezels, billit shifter ect ect... But how much you figure goes into the builders pocket when the boat is sold, lets say on a 200,000.00 boat?

Re: boat manufactures
I am not sure on the profit margin, but last year I went on a tour of the Fountain Powerboat factory. I think at the time, they said they employed 435 people. That's alot of salaries to cover, not counting all of the other costs associated with running a business.

Re: boat manufactures
Depends greatly on the shop. By "pocket" do you mean into the development of the company? Exapansion, R&D, overhead, salaries, Owners salary, or doyou mean direct profit to the company? Small growing companies most liekyl put most of it into the company. Well established companies coulde either put it towards R&d, but most take it out as profit or "Corporate expenses." I wish it went more towards R&D, but its cheaper and easier just to stretch an exiting model.

Re: boat manufactures
Tuff, I have a good friend who owns a boat manufacturing company that makes 450 boats per year. I don't know how much money he makes but you couldn't pay me enough to put up with 450 new guys per year as particular as me.
