Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
Water in the oil can be a bad seal, or a bad bellows.. Is it a Merctrans boat?

Chris will probably sell his last good one. There will be a bit of shipping involved though. Jas

Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
Sorry to hear about your issue with the TRS. They are great drives, just getting old and require serious maintenance.
If you are ever in the market for a replacement, Konrad does offer the best "Bolt on" replacement drive for the TRS. Let me know if we can help. Kirk Elite Marine, Inc. |
Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
Cig1988 motors are running good, not great but good. Thanks for asking. Still trying to tune them in, but its been a very busy summer, haven't had the time or the drive to do it. I've gutted my whole house and I'm putting a 70' addition on it. I've only been out 4 times this year. These mechanic's around here have put me through such a mind game over the last couple of years, I'm scared to push the motors, because I keep thinking there going to blow again. I miss my original motors, I use to push them to the limit and they always kept going with out a problem. I'm starting to have a new problem, one motor after its hot, if you idle around for a extended amount of times, stalls and you can't start it for about half a hour. It turns over just won't fire, almost like it gets flooded, but it only happen when you idle around for a while. Now I have this out drive problem. I'm pulling it next week for the season and I'll take it off and check it out. I'd like to swap over to those Korads but another 20000.00 in this boat doesn't seem practical or very smart. I'm already into the boat twice of what its worth. Thanks again guys for all your help over the years, its helps Lot when you really don't know everything about motors and boat mechanics.

Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
Hello,
Just thought I would let you know that I have a 75 Hour on Total Rebuild from Doller Offshore in Florida Every Part is new. This is a Left Hand Rotation drive. The drive is in excellent condtion. It is original phantom black, powder coat silver bottom. I am making the switch to Konrads. This is off of my Cigarette Mistress. No disapointments. I am in upstate NY |
Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
electrical1,
We can do better than $20k for a pair of Konrad drives for you. Why don't you give me a call and I can give you the run-down on options. We have had such a good experience with Konrads and the crew at Konrad that I can't say enough good stuff about them. I've never seen ANY manufacturer let alone drive manufacturer, stand behind their product like the group at Konrad. |
Re: Trs Outdirve Full Of Water
Thanks for the kind words Lofty! You've been great to work with also. It's definately a two way street!
