I will only have about 12 hours when I change my initial break in 40w Valvoline with Wix filters. Should I go to Mobil 1 or stay with the conventional weight Valvoline?

honestly, I'd put another 15-20 hours on with the 40W then consider the options

Change to a synthetic product if you want. Porsche, Corvette,Viper,Saab, and others come with full synthetic right out of the factory. I don't think that the engines have any time on them, much less 12 hours. You will be good to go. Ken

What do Zul and Gellner run in their fresh motors? They know the game.

Same oil and hp as me!!! :drink:

I bet I get more fuel dilution more than anything .Same will happen with synnthenic. So you would prob change just as often

Thanks all, went with the Mobil1 15-50w..

O'reilys only had the Wix 1061R racing filter in stock so went with that. Counter guy said it was just a tad taller filter otherwise the same as the 1060R.. I hope he was correct! :drink:
