Re: CMI headers on 353fastech/496HO's
I personally don't believe the performance per dollar is there on heavier twin boats from all I've heard. I seem to see the largest gains in performance on lighter singles.
Say you (or I) go this route on our 353's...and net 3 MPH I don't know today's pricing but 2500.00++ per mph for 2 sets? I'd do EVERYTHING I could with props first for less coin. Or for a few K more see Raylar's upgrades. This is strictly my opinion. |

I've been considering them for my 35 Fountain but am hesitant to lose my Silent Choice. Sound laws appear to be getting tougher...

I don't know today's pricing but 2500.00++ per mph for 2 sets? ... I understood the gain to be 60 hp a side. Possible 4 plus MPH increase. However, I was also quoted well over $11,000 for 2 sets fully installed by a recognized engine builder in Orange County. |

$ 11,000.00 installed? That's outrageous. If we can help, please let us know. We can provide real pricing, dyno sheets and product information if you like.

Kirk Ateco Engine and Dyno Shop The CMI Source As clairification, I was told that my piticular boat was a tough install and labor intensive... |

Even if you you had to R&R the engines, it shouldn't cost that much. That's over $ 3,000.00 in labor!! Who gets $ 1,500.00 per engine to R&R? I need that business.
