Thanks for the input & I'll give it a try. I'm sure it will come to some good use in the winter as well with snow plowing. A while back I saw someone mentioned the mixing unit was a bag of $hit. Anyway/suggestions to make that better ?

Re: Salt Away ???

I called & spoke to Lenora yesterday at Salt Away. She seems awesome to work with & may be able to give a group discount indivudally. If this seems like a good idea let me know & will run it by her. The prices she gave me yesterday was alot lower than retail providing you purchase by the case. 4 gallons per case. While plowing in the middle of night I get that harsh salt prior to road traffic. This will definetly be a test.

I've never used it, but the other day I pulled my t stat housings, and there wasn't a hint of salt in there. I flush the chit out of the engines with fresh water. I also put Dawn in the hose before I hook it up. When it quits bubbling, you know the fresh water has gone completely through. I'm also a believer in flushing it twice. The first fllush dissolves any salt crystals that may have formed, and flush it again before it dries to flush out the salty water. I know it works better like that on the outside of the boat.

Re: Salt Away ???

In my case I'm limited to the duration I can idle my boat. I've had the PD warn me that next time they visit I will have a $500. fine. So I compromise and flush at the public marina the last several times. Last Sunday was told by the harbor master if I do again I will be banned from the marina. Oh yeah, I pay over $2500. a season for a slip but that dont matter.
