Default Winterizing ?

im going to winterize myself this year on my 32 active thunder twin 500 hps carb. this is what im going to do.

fuel stablizer in both tanks then run motors for 10 minutes, then shut them down with fogger down the carb, then pull plugs out of bottom of manifolds, and then 2 plugs out of the bottom of each block when all drained, put plugs back in then dump boat antifreez in each motor (how much in each should i put in). then my fresh water system i will run all the water out and then dump the special antifreez in and then run the sink and transome shower till i see all antifreez coming out.

now i should be done if all this is right ??

if not let me know what im missing. thanks

Default Re: Winterizing ?

I have a winterizing setup that holds the anitfreeze in a tank. For me I like to warm the engines, change the oil & filter then open all the drains (manifolds & blocks), add Stabil to the fuel tank, remove the t-stat, close-up all the drains, start it up on the hose then open the valve on the tank to start the flow of antifreeze and shut off the water. While doing this slowly begin to add the fogging oil to the carb. As the antifreeze is about empty (4-5 gallons) I spray more fogging oil in the carb until it kills the engine. Disconnect everything then move on to the other engine. Setup and prep time is more than the winterizing process.

Don't forget to "rod" all the drain holes as some sediment may block the opening and not let all the water out

Good Luck!
